Default Bob Drake's New LH Dual exhaust Manifold

Has anyone purchased Drake's new cast iron left side manifold, p/n HR-9431? I'm thinking of buying one for my '35 woodie for a dual exhaust installation. A little less expensive than buying headers for a summer daily driver.

I would check with pat rooney in ohio. Thats obviously an 8BA engine. He makes these lft side manifolds for 8BA engines but not sure it would fit your frame, check with him. Maybe drake is getting them from him.Pat is a pleasure to deal with and honest as the day is long. 1-216-389-6135. tell him i sent you. ken ct.

Even if you find a left side manifold you are still going to need a skillful pipe bender to build the left side exhaust. So, just find a pipe magician and have him come off the existing manifold. He can clear the steering box, dip stick and clutch arm when it is depressed. Add some Brockman tubes and you are done and this route will save $$. John

What kind of water pumps did you use in your installation? Thanks for your help.

Thats what i did John, but i had an old head pipefrom the manifold to around the steering box and around the batt. box to use for a pattern, ken ct. Running duals from the orig manifolds on a straight pipe system [no mufflers]. Not loud at all.

The block is a 59A machined to take the 8BA heads. The water pumps are from Speedway for the 39 to 48 Ford. They are great water pumps running now for over 5 years.

Thanks, John. I do know a pipe magician that is doing all the welding on my nailhead deuce build. You just saved me the price of the manifold.

I use an Optima 6V battery in the woodie. I have turned it 90 degrees so the left side exhaust can run right through the vacant space in the batt. box.
