Default Trim over the sun visor

Pictured is the trim that runs along behind the sun visor at the leading edge of the top material. The idea is, you nail it to the header and gently hammer down the edges to close it up to a neat appearance. I'm fine with that. My possible issue is the gap between the visor and the sheetmetal the trim covers at the ends is not the prettiest. Instead of gooping some silicone into any area that may leak, I thought a rubber bedding under the trim piece might be a more aesthetically pleasing way of sealing against water. What have you guys used in this area?

be sure to predrill the nail holes, then use a block of wood a few inches wide and a hammer to fold the sides together.

Cut the ends at an angle to meet the gutter for a close fit. It will look nice.
