Default 32 Axle under a 31 Roadster - Mechanical Brake Rod question.

I have a complete 32 axle under my 31 Roadster.

1) It seems that the arms on the brake actuators are angles inward making it difficult to hook up the rods.

2) The brake rods are about an inch too short - at 50 7/8". Does anyone sell a longer one?

Anyone completed this project successfully? Suggestions, pics and constructive are welcome.

I have a complete 32 front end under my roadster. What you have now will cause the brake rods to hit the spring perch. Or you will have to put a bend in them so they dont and make longer rods. The easiest thing is to use A kinpins and A actuating arms. That will put the rods back on top where they are supposed to be. I mounted the 32 kingpins on the opposite side of where they are supposed to be and used the 32 actuating arms remounted so they worked from the top. It was a pain but I had the parts. If you do this, now the stock shocks are in the way. I used lovejoy shocks instead.

Thanks 62Pan but "that ship has sailed". Parts are purchased, installed and I sold the entire front end from under the '31.

It think it's time to fire up the torch and do some bending!

Anyone else have any ideas? Pics? Stories?
