Yep, junk. I have four of the 'new' ones that I purchased for raffle give-aways. All had multiple stress cracking, up to 1/2" long, extending from the pressed in center contact. The best one only had a few, less than 1/8". The cracks are tight, only visible as a light reflection at an angle through the clear plastic. My big question: How many black caps have similar invisible fractures?

Those cracks are super easy to fix. Go to your nearest hobby shop that sells model airplane building supplies and get a bottle of "Thin CA" glue. Drip some into the cracks and watch them disappear forever.

2 that I ordered from Mikes-A-Fordable came with these cracks, I called them and they sent me 2 replacements. Very good service!

I just looked at the 3 I bought. The one I put on the car is perfect, the other two have the crack. I did not see it as they are still in the package. I apologize if my supportive post caused people any problem or issue.

If you purchased them from Mike's, give them a call and they will take care of your problem. They are very helpful. It is good that nearly all of our major distributors work with high integrity.

I spoke to Mikes today. He will make good on all, just let them know and they will exchange. This is the first batch, maybe some growing pains. Mine has a visual crack, but I cannot feel it running my nail over it, on the car it works fine. I got it on the week end special, so for $7 not worth sending it back. It works, I'm okay.
The people who have the 80's version said that theirs did the same thing.

Did you notice on there you tube video that the Model A was not firing on one or two cylinders ? I wonder if it could be from the cracks ??
