Default 31 CCPU door issue

I have used the search feature but can't find an answer to my problem. The drivers door on my 31 CCPU requires that I pick it up by the handle and give it a good hard slam to close. The belt rail lines up with the cab at both the front and back of the door, the door striker is new as is the latch. Once I get it closed it stays put, but it seems to me it show close gently as my passenger door does. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks

Does your door dovetails line up properly? If your door is lined up properly to body sounds like your dovetails are not.? also hinges tight and not bent.

It sure sounds like the door is hanging low at the back and you are lifting it to engage the dovetail which then holds it up to NEAR alignment when the door is closed. If you remove the door dovetail then you can close the door normally and then investigate and determine just where the issue is.

check the door gap at the bottom of the hinge between the cowl and the door it may be hitting there and causing it to spring back out

That's exactly the problem on my right door for my 1929 Tudor.
I still haven't decided how I will bend the hinge.
The door binds when it's about 2" from closing, and then you can see the bottom hinge move.

It doesn't really bind, as the door will close easily to the first part of the opening, in other words it catches slightly before the striker, but to get it to close completely I have to lift it up and give it a god hard close. I have adjusted the striker in and out already, the dovetail is just a little high and it does rub the upper part of the clip/rubber in the door. I have removed the rubber bumper on the bottom of the door but that doesn't seem to help. Is the upper hinge more likely to be bent than the others?
Thanks
