Head crack
My police head has a hairline crack across the top from the dist hole to the side down to the bottom. The head has no other cracks on the inside and is in otherwise good condition. What's the best way to repair it. I could probably leave it alone since it doesn't leak but I want to fix it right. Seems like a lot of work pinning it; whould brazing be the way to go here?

Re: Head crack
Take it to a reputable engine machine shop and have them pin it. About $85 here in P-town.

Re: Head crack
Are you sure it's a crack and not a void in the casting? If it's not leaking, didn't look too bad,I would probably leave it. Ron W

Re: Head crack
I magnafluxed the top and it's definitely cracked. The crack is about 8" long; that's a lot of plugs and I don't think anyone is going to do it for $85. I can braze it and that seems like a good fix for cast iron. I just wanted to hear from anyone who may have encountered this problem before.
