Anyone in St Paul or MPLS That Will Help?
I have a '31 coupe that I'm having issues with. I can't seem to get the idle adjusted properly or at least I think that's my issue??
After I've started the car and let it warm up, I go to put the throttle lever all the way up but the car will just die. I can drive the car but it idles high. I also can't get it into any gear after coming to a complete stop at a stop sign and I'm thinking it's because the car is idiling too high. If I try to put it into gear it just grinds so I end up sitting at a stop sign, for what seems like a long time, until I can get it into gear. Is this because the car is idling too high and the flywheel is turning to fast for me to put it into gear after coming to a stop? Or does this have something to do with timing? I live in St Paul and if there's anybody in the area who would be willing to come by and give a young guy a hand/lesson that would be greatly appreciated. Send me a PM. Thanks. Josh |

Here is link to a great document about rebuilding and adjusting a Model A Zenith carb. See page 16 for how to drive test and adjust the carb:
