Default Yet another Engine number inquiry (Noob)

Hi all! First I would like to give thanks to all of the people involved in keeping this wonderful site intact. It seems there are plenty of options when it comes to "A" forums, yet, this one kept drawing me in.

Now, I've just acquired a restored complete rolling chassis for my '30 coupe resto. The engine in the chassis has a prefix I've not seen before. Whether it's from a re-builder or special purpose I have no idea. Basically if anyone here could give some insight, that would be great. If not, that's o.k. too!
The number is as follows, RCA 4082545. Maybe someone could identify that this NOT Ford script, or whatnot...

Here's a pic or two. Maybe three.

That number style is different from the guidelines.
The RC is puzzling.

...am I the only guy who sees a faint outline of smaller numbers above the last four numbers???

Based off of the premise that the cast surface of the pad has not been altered, I would venture a guess it probably was a block that was sold without a number and it was stamped by an installer (maybe a Dealer?). Maybe knowing more history of the chassis/engine could have clues??

BTW, I know where 'Caz' is, as about 25 years ago I used to live in the old Military Academy there off of '92 in Malius. I had friends who owned the upholstery shop there in Oran between Manlius & Rte 20. Only been back once when I hauled a couple of Franklins up for a custiomer to attend the Trek there at Caz College. Beautiful place in the summer, ...not so much in the winter as I don't "do" snow too well!!

Just a guess...Richmond California Assembly Plant???

I am not sure but I think the Richmond plant was the site for rebuilt and or spare engines which were provided by Ford???

Here is my guess: Rebuilders Corporation of America, Rebuilt in 1940, 2545th engine for that year.

Hey, me too. I also served time in upstate NY, and agree completely about "beautiful place in the summer ... but"! Lots of great roads for Model A'ing.

Check to see if it's a diamond block. If so, it wouldn't have any Ford production numbers just after marker id. wouldn't that be called a "service engine" , right?

Interesting indeed. It is not a diamond block, I looked for the markings and date code. Without the RC in the equation, and if I'm reading things properly, the number correlates correctly to October of '30. I live just down from the college. It's bloody cold and windy today. I'm leaving for Florida this week, and I can't wait!!!!

Well, The only thing I know about this whole thing is that twenty some years ago, the guy I bought it from went to Ohio and picked it up as a complete car. He sold the body to a buddy and kept the rest. The has been completely rebuilt, however, I'm not using it in this build.
