'32 roadster door handles
On a stock '32 roadster, do the square door handle shafts go thru the door and should there be a handle that screws onto the shaft on the inside of the door?
I might have the wrong handles, I'm not sure. If someone can post a pic of their '32 interior, that would be a tremendous help! thanks! |

Re: '32 roadster door handles
No handle inside on the end of the square shaft on a '32 roadster. The doors latch at the rear so the handle right on the shaft would not be very convenient. They use a handle mounted inside the door at the front which had a linkage that went back to pull the latch. '33-'34 roadsters had the latch at the front so the handle mounted directly to the handle shaft was within easy reach.
I'm not sure if original '32 handles had a threaded shaft or not, but the square shaft would have to be pretty short so that it did not extend past the latch and into the interior trim panel. Last edited by Randy; 08-03-2011 at 03:53 PM. |
