Default 1950 Mercury Water Pumps

I've been trying to find pumps for my Merc' but all of the images I see online dont look like they have the motor mounts built on like mine. Anyone know where I can get pumps?

I don't know of any new '49 (wide belt) or '50-'51 (narrow belt) Mercury pumps. Your options are to rebuild them yourself, or send them to a pro re-builder, like Skip in FL.

Skip did 2 sets of narrow belt Merc pumps for me, one set on the 8ba in my '39 p/u and one set for a spare for road trips (doubt I'll need them but you never know). Both sets came out great with fast turn around and fair prices IMO.

Who is a good vendor of parts for these cars? I've had mine four years, but it's been fairly reliable. Now I want to rebuild it so will need carb kit, motor mounts, etc

I rebuild my own. They are not reproduced. The water pump rebuild kits for the 8BA family of engines are all the same unless you have real early 49 bushing type pumps. There is really no one stop place for Mercury parts. C&G, Dennis Carpenter, Shoe Box Central, and others are out there for parts vendors.

There is a good list on the HAMB for vendors of all sorts. Here is a link.

Some of them are no longer in business.

Skip just rebuilt the water pumps for my 53 Mercury. I have no experience with other vendors, but I can't imagine anyone doing better. Beautiful workmanship, great customer service and two week turnaround less shipping time. The $215 includes return postage. He'll get my next pair for rebuild. Curt
