Even if only for yard art it's probably worth retrieving IMO. A few years ago my son and I found a bunch of old car parts in the woods in northern Michigan. Mostly yard art too but just recovering "history" is sometimes a pleasure. We found enough sheet metal to put together a generic display car - cowl, doors, fenders, grille shell, hood etc. I posted pics of it all here, maybe 6 or 7 years ago. The "project" is still sitting in a pile behind the pole-barn. But at least it's not going to the scrapper.

Actually, a 50/50 mixture of ATF & acetone is 50% better then Kroil.

Got the axle home. Talked with the dad of the guy that had the axle...he said it's off of a 37 slant back and that he has the rest of the car in his barn and that it's pretty rough. He said they are "rodders" and he didn't need that axle. In parting, I told him that if he has any other ford parts that he wants to get rid of to let me know.

From what I can see, the covers are in a hexagon shape which are usually screw-off. My dad had a couple of flat steel wrenches with the "Ford" script on them that fit these and a few other things. I always thought they were model "T" tools, though.

I guess I don't have enough to do besides work. I'd pick it up just for the fun of it.

I do agree the wishbones would be a hotrod cutup quality. Dealing with selling things is a pain, but if you offer it up as mildly free pay ship/handling you'll get rid of it quick. Hey it was free, but your time isn't.

Capt Kirk, If your trip up here is still on, I would be interested in a set of wishbones for a 36 ford if you come across some. I would send you the money for them & compensate you for hauling them up here. Bill
