As strange as it may seem, for some of my parts, I put them in the dishwasher. Between the heat, and detergent and the pressurized circulating water, It works great!

For old fossilized grease on drivetrain parts try melting it with a propane torch and a putty knife to scrape it..just be sure to wear a mask as the fumes are probably not good....final cleanup with solvent..

I got my parts washer through TP tools, I purchased the 30 gall that @ the time was on sale. TP also has a smaller stand alone 20 gallon for $150.00.
I'm using Crown PSC 1000 that I got from Tractor Supply it works very well with very low odor. What ever cleaning solvent you buy make sure you obtain and maintain the MSDS sheet. |
