Timing Question
My model a ran fine when parked roughly two years ago, the gas was drained. Put in new gas and it wouldn't fire at all. Changed the points, condenser, plugs, etc. and set the timing per the old time guidance. Cranked her over with the timing fully retarded and it wouldn't fire, pulled the timing lever down (advanced) and it would start and run, but not too well. Sounds like the timing is too far retarded. So which way do I move the distributor cam and by how much?

Re: Timing Question
Excellent, Thanks!
I wish I had seen this yesterday, it would have saved a bunch of frustration, a couple of loud backfires and a few choice swear words. |
