Look at post #13 the far right picture in the top row, you can see a board going left
to right in the center of the seat pan.

Thanks. It's pretty obvious now that you point it out. I can measure and make my own.

Wood kits in catalogs show a bottom seat board.

Questions:

(1) What is it for?
(2) Where does it go?
(3) How does it attach?

43 years into this project (with a lot of down time), but I WILL get it finished.

Ted-- I'm in Highland County and have a roadster PU that has been with me since 1967. It seems we have a lot in common!!

Hello All, I am working on a 29 closed cab pickup. I ordered the seat springs and upholstery kit. The pick has the wood behind the seat for the back cushion. Does the bottom just sit on the steel seat frame. It came with nothing and this is a mystery as I have no other pickup to compare it to,
Thank you,
John Tucker

John.
I don't know about closed cab. On a Roadster PU the wood goes across as a brace. The seat sits on the metal base. I would suggest you repost your question again not under Roadster PU as I am not sure who will see it here.

Seat cushion then back cushion. That is the correct order.
