1953 Ford Pickup still 6 volt positive ground?
Have a 1953 Ford pickup. Still has a generator. Wondered if Ford had changed the system to 12 volt and/or negative ground by this time. How can I tell?

Hate to ask.. Is there a battery in it? Maybe check the voltage noted on a headlight bulb or turn signal flasher?

Yes it is still 6v and positive ground. A good source of information is VanPelts site. Among other interesting information found there are wiring diagrams for the various years of cars/trucks.

All Fords were 6 volt positive ground until 1956 when they went 12 volt negative ground.
