Transmission Bearings
I am installing sealed one side main bearings in my transmission. Do the seals both face the outside? Do I need to install the old baffle plates since I am using a sealed bearing?

Re: Transmission Bearings
The seals should face outboard. Best to install the oil baffles for dimensional reasons.

Re: Transmission Bearings
Concur with Tom. Might also consider swapping out the shafts for O Ring units since they seal really well, and maybe that aftermarket aluminum unit that seals the shift rod bores. Definitely inspect the U Joint and change it out if there is any looseness or play. Dropping the trans is such a chore it is best to do as much maintenance as possible while it is out. Good luck.
