Default 390 in a 57 custom

I am replacing the 223 with a 390 and I am wondering about the spring spring rate. Did the 57 V8 have more spring? Thanks!

you will need heavier springs.the 58 had the 352 which may work.

The 390 is not a lot heavier then the 223, put an aluminum intake on it and they should come in the same or really close.

May be worthwhile to just replace the 50+yr old springs.
