1962 Thunderbird tires
I need to buy tires for my '62 T-bird. How wide should the white walls be for that year. I've been told '62 was the last year wide white walls were used. I've looked at 2 1/2" wide 215/75/R14 Cokers. What would look best for that year? I've heard good and bad reports about Cokers. What is the best brand? Thanks for any help.

Re: 1962 Thunderbird tires
62 was the first year for the narrow band whitewall(black stripe around the rim) wide whites were not used after 1961.

Re: 1962 Thunderbird tires
Thanks for the help Jim. I'm undecided on to go for the 1" wide whites, or the 2 1/2". There's not much difference between the '61 to 63. I guess if a person really wanted 2 1/2" whites they would be OK on a '62 or'63.
