Andalusite vs Washington blue?
Hi
Does anyone have a decent pic of either of these blues? I'm torn on which one to go with. Is Andalusite considerably darker? Thanks |

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
Washington Blue was a '30-'31 color (?), I believe.
Andalusite Blue was '28-'29. I find Andalusite to be much darker. I like Washington Blue, especially when paired with Rivera Blue belt and Tacoma Cream on the wheels. If your coachwork is less than perfect ( ripples / small imperfections ) you might want to favor the lighter color... thats' what I'm planning to do with my '28 coupe. ( PS - That's a beautiful Roadster, Earle ! ) |

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
Horsewhisperer - We're trins! Nice roadster!
The only words I see on my trunk locks are "MI AUTO LOCK". Nothing about "EAGLE". And the keys have been lost forever - I never had them when I acquired the trunk about 25 years ago. I would love to find a good locksmith who could fabricate new keys. The trunk is all steel - Looks exactly like yours except mine doesn't have lifting handles on the ends. 'Wish it did. It's an original dating from the '30's but I don't know if it was ever an official Ford accessory. It fits the trunk rack perfectly but is a bugger to get on and off the rack without handles! All the best with your beautiful car. Take care, Earle |

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
Actually, if you upload your pics to an album on this site, you are able to use the little "insert image" icon when you post. Then paste the URL addy of the pic in your album that you want to use up to 800 pixels (perhaps more).

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
If you don't have MAFCA's color chip book, there is a website that has all of the color chip charts and you can get some idea of what the colors look like although the monitors are not perfect in their color display. Try http://www.tcpglobal.com and look for their chips for Ford 1928 - 1931. I have bought paint from them and have been very happy with the color match. Gar Williams

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
You have the photo in your album, Patrick, I right-clicked your photo, clicked on properties to copy the URL,, then went to this thread, clicked on the little yellow icon (if you mouse over the buttons you will see "insert image"), which brings you to a pop-up to paste in the URL, and walla.....a beautiful roadster!
You do not have to get to properties. Just click on your photo you choose in the album, and it will give you the URL to copy/paste in the pop-up, when you post reply. Nice Roadster!

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
I always thought mine was Andalusite Blue, but after seeing a couple of the other photos, now I wonder if it's Washington Blue. It was already painted when I bought it. In the shade, it looks almost black. In full sun, it looks really blue.

Re: Andalusite vs Washington blue?
Andalusite and Lombard are both quite dark but the color tone is different. Here is a link to my Workshop page. The first link on the page will let you view different color combinations on a Deluxe Roadster.

Sorry, I guess I meant Lombard not Andalusite.. Its pretty sad when you don't even know what color your own car is..
