I've had many days where something doesn't go right, not just in car restoration, but at work, making plastic models, well just in life in general. It's all about how you handle the minor setback.
Nope. The best thing would be to stop and say "what could possible go wrong with sawhorses?" and a milk crate and then using the proper support. Plenty can go wrong even when doing it right. This was just dumb. Glad you weren't hurt in the process.

Had to weld a 3/16 strap up under the visor to keep it straight and redid bodywork and primer on the back.
THEN
started to wet sand the orange peel on the already painted fenders, first time painting urethane, have always used acrylic enamel, anyway ,I did put (what I thought) 3 good coats on the fenders, waited 72 hours and started with 1000 and then 2000, sanded right through in a couple of spots.
turned off the lights and closed the door, sat down and had a beer.
plan to finish sanding and recoat with a wet coat.
ever had "one of those days?"
thanks for letting me vent
Greg
Sorry to hear about that. Yes we have all had at LEAST one of those days

Tom, you poor disallusioned man, I'm NOT always in a good mood, I'm just like everyone else! But I NEVER yell at my Dog!
I managed to fall in a bathroom that's too SMALL to fall in, how did I manage that? PURE TALENT! The room is only this [--] big! Was I TICKED? yes! But the Dog sat on my chest with slurpies to "HELP" me! Cindy, my daughter, fell in her TINY bath & cut her head open, 21 stitches! Dad said, "How in the world did you fall in a such a tiny room"? NOW I KNOW. Bill W.

I laughed too (at Bill's joke, not Dune's paint getting messed up). The P.C. weenies will be all over it before long though.

I was going to mention what Willit said, but he beat me to it. You shouldn't have to sand through anything when you're done spraying urethane. Just some rubbing with compound after it cures is all it should need.
