Default Fender skirts

How did Henry secure the 3/4 skirts on 52-54 cars? Are there brackets that mount on the body? I would like to do it right,
.

I would like to know this also - and pictures please - this is on my future to do list!!
I have seen 2 styles of skirts - stock that are flush with the fenders, and over lay style that lay over the fender - any comments on these??

There are two small brackets per side. One at the front and one at the back. One has a slot and the other has a hole and the rods of the skirts go into these areas. Actually there is an ell shaped bracket that goes on top of the fender in the middle. You seldom see this bracket. The two mounting brackets are hard to come by. If someone would loan you a pair, you could have some made. Make sure you have FORD skirts and not Mercury. Good luck. Charles
