Default Great Old Pictures

I was looking for pictures of my grandfather Frank who was a doughboy in WW1 as I am watching WW1 on TV today. I ran across this. This is my grandfather Bernard and Dad now aged 97 in Montana in front of his country store.

What make/year is this car? Hint not Ford

Car looks like a mid 20's Chevrolet. Which one is your dad? The younger boy or the older one? At 97 your dad was born on 1920. The younger boy looks to be 6 or 7 years old and the older boy 10-12 years old. The photo was taken sometime between 1926 and 1932.

I think it looks like a 1929 or 1930 Chevrolet.

That's a Chev tail light. I'd say 1929 Chev International. My friend has just recently bought a roadster version with the same big disc wheels.

Dad is the older one at 10 or 11. Store is still there in Gold Creek, MT. Grandpa sold it around 35 years ago. I think this is in 1931. I think it is a 29-31 chevy. After a Model T grandpa didn't own a Ford until 1940. Dad's cousin still owns the ranch behind the store. The ranch across the street owned by another cousin was sold to the Mennonites. Amazingly enough both my grandfathers/grandmothers were born in the 1890s before the automobile!
