Default Frame issues

I posted this already once, but put it in the wrong forum..to the staff..I apologize. I have acquired a barn find 63 Galaxie fastback, which has been wrecked, several years ago. 23 to be exact..at any rate,I took it apart today to assess the damages. Not favorable. Frames bent.i have a parts car with a good frame. If I have to ill swap, however,I have a couple of questions I'd like to get answered first..I'm soliciting any good advice..
1st..I live in east tenn and prefer to find a frame shop for estimate on repairing..anyone have any recommendations? Secondly..if I have to roll it out..can I conceivably change frame out without removing the glass in the car? One man operation, unfortunately and a budget..can anyone give me any insight? I'm 65 so my abilities are limited also at this stage in life..lol.thanks in advance and happy motoring.

There is a guy over in the Model A forum who is from Johnson City, TN, he may know of a shop that could help with your frame. His user name is Brent from 10-uh-C. He also has a website model-a-ford.com if you want to contact him that way. Good luck with your project, I love those 63 1/2 models.

Depending on how strict the DMV regulations are there in Tennessee they may want to see the serial number on the frame (assuming a '63 has them) when you go to Title or Register the car for the road, or eventually sell it.

If you've got paperwork for the frame that can help. Here in NM if the paperwork for your 'older' pre-modern era VIN marked vehicle doesn't match the serial number on the vehicle you can only get a Bonded title, if you're lucky and pay the extra fees.
I bought a '55 from out of state and the DMV folks knew to look for the frame number and refused to accept anything else.

The guy ZEKE3 mentioned lives in Elisabethton Tenn. His name is Brent Terry and owns a big Model A Shop there. He is an extremely knowledgable car guy.

Well,

You need to determine if the car is truly an early build 63 1/2 406 GALAXIE. If all numbers match, you just might be a rich guy.

I am guessing the collision damage is on the front end? If so you need to find the VIN on the frame and see if it matches the PATENT PLATE. If it matches, that frame needs to stay with the car as for car value.

There has to be a PROFESSION SPRING AND ALIGNMENT SHOP around K-TOWN or BRISTOL - JOHNSON CITY. Take photos of the frame when inquiring as to possible straightening. The extra frame can be used for x-members and such.

Are you comfortable giving the first five characters of the VIN? Photos help.

I don't know for sure how to find this information (I should at this late date), but I am going to find out. I know STATE DMV's have the info.

Source of VIN information -

- NATIONAL CRIME INSURANCE BUREAU -

https://www.nicb.org/vinmanuals

I know in MD if there was a question regarding registration, the MVA/SP had a facility in Glen Burnie that would decide it for you ...

Other than a 67 GT-500, I never had trouble with registration (MD) or had any high dollar car requiring a check.
