Re: Landaue Set
Yes he’ll be lucky to find a pair of originals for less than repo. Might find a flea mkt if you're sure what your looking for. I will buy one of things that come in pairs and hope for the other side to be found. A pair of something goes for about 5x the single price.
I wish him well in such |

Re: Landaue Set
Are you looking for the folding ones? Or the decorative (non folding) ones?

Re: Landaue Set
Ford made a lot of model A Sport Coupes but being a soft top, they didn't last well out in the elements. These parts deteriorate and eventually they are unrepairable. As I mentioned in the other thread on the same subject, these parts are not all that easy to find anymore. Those that have them want to keep them. I wish the OP good luck on finding a decent set for an affordable price. This stuff doesn't go cheaply and condition plays a big part on that. Finding the little unobtanium pieces is a real challenge in this day and age. Model A folks know they are rare.

Re: Landaue Set
I think in your other identical post you said Berts had a set but the price was too high. You might want to reconsider your position. Their prices are usually very fair.

Re: Landaue Set
There was some that didn't sell on an epay auction yesterday for $99. The hole on the end of one of them was missing but I think you could weld something up.
He has listed them four times so they may be listed again or contact him. https://www.ebay.com/itm/11482741208...NgKu4~&vxp=mtr |

Re: Landaue Set
Ronn, definitely not overpriced. The likely issue why these have not sold is because most people lack the skillset to be able to make repair that would be undetectable. In comparison, I have a nice set that I would not take $500 for. I have no idea what Steve is asking for his, but items like this are pretty rare when they come along, so I agree with Wayne that sometimes you need to reconsider even if you are not wanting to spend that much.

Re: Landaue Set
I found an original set for my 28 Sport Coupe. Took me 30 years. Still need the nickel parts for the centre. The one I have a only good for patterns. I can make them if I need to but would like a good original pair. Of course I found them after working up a A/M set and hardware. The belt moulding is the same. Just keep putting it out there you'll find it. I found a Canadian one that is totally different from the American one. It was hanging in the rafters of a Bodyshop for 30 years. It had been painted for a guy and he never came back for it. JP

You should replicate the medallions by drawing them in a CAD using your sample, and then have a set of dies 3D printed of plastic. As you know, the CAD program can take the 3D modeled piece and flatten it which would give you the outline to trace out in a flat view. After tracing that onto brass sheeting, and then use a shop press to form them in the plastic dies. Do your final repossee work by hand and send them to the platers. |

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I bought a complete set of Landeau’s from Smith & Jones. Nice people to deal with.
