Default rear brake shoes rubbing drum surface

1940 Ford rear brakes are rubbing drum edge below lining. This makes squeal when turning but not straight ahead. Had this 31 coupe for three years. It came with 1940 hydraulic brakes. Only last 6 months making this noise. Drums show metal rubbing marks on edge below lining on shoes. Plan to grind the shoe metal edge again and install new bearings. Anyone have this problem?
