Unhappy ethanol friendly parts

Edelbrock 94 knock offs (buly 94s) anyone had or heard of them? had them on the car Two carb set up on 59ab new motor, about an hr running and blown power valves and rubber seals gone??? tested gas 8% alcohol,

I have two questions.
#1 will alcohol make the things go bad that soon??
#2 is there parts available to help with alcohol?

maybe uncle max will chime in......please?

I think they were junk from the get go?? thoughts?

thank you!!

I agree with your last comment. We have had alcohol gas for quite some time in our state, I haven't had to change any rubber parts that have been in my '35 since long before alcohol gas.

Did you have a backfire through the carb? That will do the PV in.

If the parts exposed to the fuel are not nitrile rubber, it is a sure thing they will eventually soften and fail. There is a move to 15 percent alcohol coming which will make matters worse. There is now alcohol in all gas from transportation. As station pumps mostly use one hose for all grades, the fuel from the previous sale is there for the next use, even if the pump offers non alcohol gas.

That's not the way it works here, the non-ethanol gas has a separate system and hose.

I doubt if the residual alcohol leftover in the pump hose would have any measurable affect on the % of alcohol in a tank of gas. It would be less than if you added a bottle of Heet to your tank.

on a side note, I picked up 10 gallons of non-ethanol while taking a drive in the country today. 5 gal for my 66 Mustang and 5 gal for the 36 pickup. If I do the same next few times I'm out there I should have both tanks full in time for some summer cruising.
