Default motor mount--disgusting

I took my engine out today and the motor mounts look like they were made in china. The metal parts were breaking into pieces! The rubber feels more like plastic, and is breaking into pieces. Where can we get good quality mounts?

I've used lots of biscuits from Chassis Engineering in Iowa. They are high quality and have a stainless band around them to control squish. Never had a failure.

I believe the Drake ones may come from Chassis Engineering.

If you want good NOS ones or NORS, I would check with Fred at South Side Obsolete in Faribault MN or Ray Helgers in RI. Ray is 401 635 4849, open Wed.- Sat.

Chassis Engineering wants $30 plus $17 shipping
Ebay price $28.50, free shipping, the same seller has 40 for $400 which equals $10 each

Those are Gearhead's Chinese copies of CE's mounts, not the same thing. They look the same in the pictures; but feel a lot softer than the real ones.

I can't comment on how they worked, as I returned the ones I bought. Did not feel like
experimenting, so I ordered real set from CE.

They used to sell CE mounts; but have their own made now. One of their "stock" pictures in the ad still shows a CE mount.
