ethanol friendly parts
Edelbrock 94 knock offs (buly 94s) anyone had or heard of them? had them on the car Two carb set up on 59ab new motor, about an hr running and blown power valves and rubber seals gone??? tested gas 8% alcohol,
I have two questions. #1 will alcohol make the things go bad that soon?? #2 is there parts available to help with alcohol? maybe uncle max will chime in......please? I think they were junk from the get go?? thoughts? thank you!! mike |

I agree with your last comment. We have had alcohol gas for quite some time in our state, I haven't had to change any rubber parts that have been in my '35 since long before alcohol gas.

Did you have a backfire through the carb? That will do the PV in.

I doubt if the residual alcohol leftover in the pump hose would have any measurable affect on the % of alcohol in a tank of gas. It would be less than if you added a bottle of Heet to your tank.
on a side note, I picked up 10 gallons of non-ethanol while taking a drive in the country today. 5 gal for my 66 Mustang and 5 gal for the 36 pickup. If I do the same next few times I'm out there I should have both tanks full in time for some summer cruising. |
