head stud sealer
on a flat head what type of sealer is best to use on the head studs?? that go in the block

#2 Permatex works for me.
It's non hardening & handles re-torquing well. |

I use PTFE stuff - usually ARP:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-100-9904 I also coat the sides of the studs with anti-seize. |

I prefer #2 or Aviation Permeated. Some folks like to use Teflon tape. I also like the idea of using Anti-seize on the sides of studs. I like to use a thread cleaning tool to clean the internal threads in the deck prior to installing studs. NEVER USE A THREAD CUTTING TAP or DIE on these threads! Then I install studs hand tight, without torquing them.
