Default drop front fender at back in a 1947 mercury.

Is it hard to drop front fender at back so hood can fit in 1947 mercury.

If it's like my 48 Ford, there are about 4 bolts on each side that must be loosened. They go into cage nuts. Problem - if there is rust binding the cage nut and bolt you are liable to ruin the cage nut or breaking the bolt getting it undone. I had this problem with almost all of them, just ended up using regular nuts on the bolts. If this is the case, you have to remove the kick panel to gain access to/for the nuts.

You do have to look at the gap where the fender meets the body (rear top of fender).
