Default adapting a 31 steering column support to a Briggs 1929 Fordor

IMG_3502.jpgMy 1929 Fordor developed a gas leak at the steering column support. Repairing the tank now. Have read on here about people adding a 1931 support to alleviate the stress on the tank mount.

I've seen the pictures that were posted, but my dash support is different. The pictures show the front of the tank mounting to a "U" shaped dash support, with the open portion pointing towards the driver and the tank bolted to this support. I think I have a 29 Briggs Fordor, as the dash support is still a "U" shape, but the open portion is pointed downward. The tank only secures to the dash at a bracket in the middle.

So I'm trying to figure out how to mount a 30-31 steering column support to this kind of dash support. Has anyone come up with a way to do so?
