Default Rear main bearing thrust surfaces

Does the flywheel side of the rear main provide any thrust surface? I know there is a thrust surface on the front side of the rear cap, but not sure about the rear side. Thanks!

The rear side provides the majority of the thrust control. It is what takes the pressure when the clutch pedal is pressed and the crank tries to move forward. The front only gets light pressure when the engine is running and is there to locate the crank.

Would the rear thrust surface intersect the flywheel bolt area or is it inside of the flywheel bolts?

If the flywheel bolts are too long they will tear up the slinger, not the thrust bearing. If the thrust is gone but the rest of the bearing is good, you can fit a bronze thrust and continue on.

Should I assume tearing the slinger up is bad? A bit new to this...

Have you seen that oil seal that Synders sells that adds thrust, for I would assume, short term repair? Anyone used it?

If the slinger is gouged deep enough the oil will leak out instead of being channeled back to the pan, resulting in a huge mess on your garage floor.

Gotcha, thanks for reading between the lines on my flywheel bolts. I forgot the sheet metal spacer and spun the engine over, result==metal shavings...
