Default suspension ball sizes

Can anyone tell me if the ball from a tie rod is the same size as the ball on a dog-bone for a shock absorber link?

The replacement rod balls for tie rods are available and I was wanting to run one in a '40 front shocker.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Some model a parts places sell replacement shock balls for the rear axle housings, perhaps they will work for your needs
