I bought a set of w/w radials from Diamond Back several years ago. the brand name on the tires is Dayton. I have had very good luck with them . The white walls do not yellow like cokers I have seen. I use westleys bleach white wite wall cleaner on them.

Tires more than 8 or 9 years old, no matter how few miles, tend to dry out and crack. They dry out quicker if they were sitting in sunlight for long periods of time. Today's tires just don't last like the old ones.

Dick, I had the same brand of tires on our '51 F-1, after several years one tire developed a bubble in the sidewall and the white wall on another got cracks in it. Like TJ said, after several years these newer tires don't hold up very well.

have been running diamond back*(daytons)for years. the the whitewall split at the jiont on the first set i bought in about 1999. diamond back revised there procedures to rectify this problem. call diamond back and talk to the owner re your situation. he was most helpful whenever i talked to him. diamond back is a family run business and they know the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE. also, they do not reccomend using a cleaner containing bleach, i use Castrol Super Clean, works great.

I have a set of Whitewall Candy Store tires on my '49 wagon, and one of the WW is now coming off the side casing. They are about 6 years old, with less than 10K miles. It is the age, not miles.
