Default Tours for 2017

If the moderators posted a link at the top of the forum for tours coming up in 2017 local, regional and national I know I would be interested is this doable or would other folks here be interested in something like that. Of course this would be up to the moderators but i was thinking of something like the model a links they have posted.

This reminds me of something else we could do. After our club has its Jan scheduling meeting, we could post the tours we have planned for next year This might spark some ideas for other clubs. Our club seems to keep going to the same places every few years. We all need some new ideas.

Excellent idea! This would make a great source for publishing tours in my newsletter for the club. Many times I am unaware of other tours nearby.

How about one for swap meets? That's what gets us able to tour. A separate listing would be fine, but must have consideration for meets that are both.

we enjoy visiting various parts of the country and would like to see what is offered. I know there are a couple of west coast events but we are looking at traveling east to get a change of scenery!

From downunder & a regular visitor for swap meets & pos events pertaining to Model A ,s It would be of a great help to know in way in advance of these events , not just the large ones but smaller one ,
Perhaps John could do a calendar with them on or a separate thread here , How to set it up ????Swap meets , Tours & events . Thanks in advance ,

Model A rally coming up in April in NZ. You wouldn't have to travel far for that one. We'll be there so long as the "Shakey Isles" stop shaking.

Synchro909. Not going for 3 days at easter to the small island , been there , done that, driving is a nightmare even at 90-95 k,s Besides only get back day before from 4 swap meets in 10 days , However the next national meet down south which runs for 6-7 days will be one not too be missed ,

My suggestion is this...Get in touch with Ryan and spell out your thoughts and ideas and have him put up a STICKY as I have done for the Model A websites and services.

Now, to make things simple, there can and should be only one moderator inserting the events and dates otherwise things will go to hell in a hand basket.

Whoever is the moderator of the STICKY should give his or her email address so those of you who have events can tell that person and they will hopefully plug in all the information needed for all of us to see such as when, where, time and contact person.

Such as: January 14, 2017...SWAP MEET...Shepherdsville, KY...Roy Armstrong [email protected] 6834 Ceder Grove Road, Shepherdsville, KY 40165.

And yes, tours and swap meets can all be included within this one STICKY...that way one is not going all over the place. As one ends, they can be deleted and as one is coming up, they can be added.

Sorry, I won't be the moderator on this one...to many irons in the fire as it is.

So since this is a "excelent and great idea"...who wants to contact Ryan and get the ball rolling? bnchief...how about you???

Ahhhhhhh....we will see!

Good luck!

Pluck

That would be super a lot of times you have meets and tours right in your area but never hear about them till they are over. There was a Model A meet in Westford Mass. 20 miles away
I was told had 150 Model A's. I had just got my Model A and was not in the know yet.

Great idea, it will also help people organizing Model A activities.

Steve Plucker i took your suggestion and emailed the moderator about it so we will see what they think. I thought the moderator would do that did not know they let others do them. One moderator is a good idea if they go for it i would need some guidelines on how to set it up. I would rather they just pm me on the forum rather than my e-mail i get enough spam as it is. Thanks for the suggestions.
