Default Southside Obsolete

Anybody remember Southside Obsolete ? they were located in Minnneapolis, Minnesota. They sold all NOS Ford Chassis, and engine parts, and had a ton of it. I started buying parts form him in the 70's, just wondering if there still around....Ed

But Google is only as good as its last update, and Southside Obsolete is no longer in Minneapolis at the address listed.

Bruce,

That's why Google is your friend. Southside Obsolete is easily found by Google at its current address in Faribault.

Yes I am around. Kinda got away from the old parts (32-53) and was selling newer parts to ford dealers on their computer system that I was buying on the surplus market. It became 90% of my business and took away from the time I could give to the older parts. My wife came down with brain cancer 6 years ago. At that time I sold all my newer parts to Green Sales in Cinncinati (sp) to take care of her. Well I am back and as you can see I go under the name barnfind08. I have been selling parts on here all along. My website will be expanding soon, but check it out now and pay close attention. Thanks Fred

Giving us a URL would be a big step in the right direction.

I have a set of '38 one ton brake cables. I'm afraid I used one of them but the rest are in original boxes in my attic. Let's hope it's two rears and a front. I will look in the morning. Sold the truck 15 years ago.

Well I am still around and selling parts. All parts are n.o.s. or stock bought in the 60's to the 80.'s. I only sell parts 1932-48. Yes they would all be made in the u.s.a.. I still buy parts where I can find them. My contact list is very long and I keep in touch with all my old surplus and parts houses that I bought from in the early years. I have 9 buildings of parts. All my business is pretty much word of mouth. My customers tend to to keep the secret of where they buy their parts which is ok with me. I could not keep up with it now like the old days doing 25 orders a day. So keep it light on this old man. Fred

Thanks,Fred. Right now I am doing my best to try to focus on my 51 so I can start driving it,and am still hunting down and buying parts for it.

I will be sure to contact you when I start working on my 38 Standard humpback or my 34 pu,though

PLEASE keep me in mind if you find any 51 Ford FOM parts while you are out looking for 32-48 parts. Need some other parts for my 51 also, but the stock auto trans setup is the priority for me. Even need the bellhousing and starter for the 226 flat 6 engine.
