Radial Tires
What size radial tires can you safely run on 4 x 16 Ford rims?

Re: Radial Tires
I run 215 85r 16 radials. They are tall and skinny like a stock tire. Because I'm a cheapskate I buy them secondhand as they are standard issue on most dually pickups. I took delivery of two more yesterday for the rear of my '47 half ton, well it's a woodie wagon now. No tubes needed, they stay inflated nicely even on my heavily rutted, 1/2 mile of steep gravel road.

Re: Radial Tires
I installed Diamond Back 6.00 R 16 no tubes on my 38 wide fives - 40 lbs pressure. Make sure the rims are clean and sealed.

Re: Radial Tires
I did a pair of 16 inch 35 wires with 500-16 Excelsior radials and a pair of 32 wires widened 2 inches with 700-18 Excelsior radials for a 32 Lakester I started and Dale has several thousand high speed miles on them with no problems

COMMERCIAL T/A ALL-SEASON 2 - SIZE: LT215/85R16 The big draw back they are heavy 36 lbs each. I only have them for the big little look. I have 195-85-16 on front which are about the the same as 700-16 but that size is discontinued. I use this for reference https://www.tirerack.com/tires/sizes...sp?diameter=16 |
