Default 37 "I think" winshield identifiaction question

I bought a pile of 28 to 48 Ford parts from a fella who was retiring. In the pile was a windshield assembly. It is a split windshield that cranks out and is chrome plated. The crank assembly was still on it. I have figured out that the crank assembly is for a 37 car or truck at a minimum. It is one of the few parts that I do not need from the pile and would like to properly identify the window so I can sell it. Is there anything that could confirm exactly it application? Thanks much. Photos would help. When I bought a new windshield for my '39 p/u the glass guy told me that the car and truck frames were the same fit wise but the car frame had the joint in the middle and the truck had the joint at a 1/3 - 2/3 spacing on the outside edge of the frame. Not 100% positive but he did know old car glass.

From what I know, the '37-'39 car and trucks used the same frame. Some were chrome plated on the windshield surround. The location of the split changed in '39 from what I understand. I know the '38 regulator is different from the '39, don't know if '37-'38 are the same.

1937 windshield had the joint in the middle and 38 & 39 had the joint at the 1/3 point for trucks and passenger cars. I was told that the 1937 joint at the 1/2 point was not stable enough and that the glass had a tendency to crack. When the joint was moved to the 1/3 point, the problem was solved. Don't know if this was true or not, but it was on the internet, so it has to be so.

The problem with the join in the middle was that it put too much strain on the lower section of the windscreen when opening or closing it - often cracking the glass.
Moving the join down in 1938 to around a 1/3rd of the way up decreased the pressure.
All a question of purchase power around a fulcrum.

According to the Early Ford V8 Club 38-39 book the 1/2 to 1/3 split change happened during 38. Chrome would be for 37 deluxe, 38 deluxe, 38 standard made approximately January 38 or later, and all 39. The split at the middle (1/2) would be 38 and earlier.

edit: corrected year that the split was introduced. swoopNZ got it right.

Modified windshields commenced around 29th June 1938 according to page 8-12 of the 38/39 EFV8 book.

'37 and '38 windshield regulators, car and truck, are the same. '39 is one year only. Standard cars and most trucks had painted windshield frame, Deluxe cars had chromed frame and the chromed frame was optional on trucks.
