Traffic Signal Wiring

I’m thinking someone here has mounted a traffic signal in their garage and wired the lights in sequence to come on as you enter the parking space. I.e. green, yellow, red then off. Would you be willing to share how you did this?

I have one that is wired to flash the lights randomly.I have no idea how he did it,but when you plug it in the lights go on and shut off one at a time.No pattern to it,they just randomly blink.I don't hear any noise in it,no flasher noise,so it must have some kind of electronic switches.The man that did it got into the electronics wave after the war,so it would have been a no-brainer job for him.

If you don't want to DIY, there are similar ready-made systems, ask Mr Google about "garage stop light".

I am easily distracted/ annoyed. The blinking lights drive me absolutely nuts. I did mine where all three lights are on at all times. Also I used the lowest watt bulbs I could find because they are very bright.

I bought a sequencer off of eBay that could be programmed with different patterns. Mine is just a standard 4 way intersection timing.

I'm not sure how to trigger it to turn on when you pull in but perhaps one of those sequencers would work. I'm sure there's some sort of foto-sensor you could add to turn on and off by motion.

I did a sequence light system for a friend many years ago that had a wife who kept running into his work bench at the end of the garage because she had poor depth perception. The indicator was an old traffic light hung over the bench. The sensors were war surplus photo cell switches mounted in the walls on either side of the garage. As she went past the garage door the green came on, as she went half way in the yellow came on, as she got to where she should stop the red came on. No more broken bench legs...There should be lots of modern digital kits on the internet available now for doing the same thing along with youtube videos on how to wire it.

I searched programmable lights on Logo Lights and came empty. I also watched the recommended U-Tube and a couple others but can’t find the components shown. Could someone please list programmable sensor and relays by brand and/or part number.
Oh! I’m looking to install a three position sensor to individually turn on/off each light not a sequencer. TIA!

4 way signal with electronic timer to control lights. Not what the original poster is looking for but a nice way to display signal.

There are sensor switches available to warn a driver to stop in the garage.You mount it on the wall,wherever you want the front bumper to end up.
When the sensor is triggered the reciever can either activate a alarm or a light.I know they were available in both hard wired and wireless.I could see using three of the hard wired ones in a row,I think the light stayed on for 10 seconds.I installed one for an old guy years ago,but I don't know where he got it.I think it came from one of those catalogs full of things you just can't do without that are mailed out to seniors.

I bought mine almost ten years ago and it doesn't look like that seller has them anymore. Here is the closest I could find. Again this would just be the sequencer and you'd need to figure out the approach system setup.
