Default 1940 deluxe fordor window regulator

I replaced window channels and felt on front doors. Window rolled up and down just fine until I installed door panel and garnish moulding. The glass now comes out of channel when I roll the window down about 3 or so inches. If I put pressure on the glass with my hand it will roll down as expected. Am I missing some sort of adjustment or something to keep it from popping out.

I don’t understand how the glass can come out of the channel . Could it be the glass is too small ?? Maybe the door panel is too thick ?

Do you mean glass is falling inboard at the top, coming out of the “channel” formed by the garnish molding?
If that’s what is happening, may need to fine tune the lateral location of the whole window assembly by loosening the bolts (four I think) holding the regulator to door. Regulator is slotted to allow for fine adjustment there. 1/16” may do it. 1/8” may be too much and will fall out on the other side. Temporarily install garnish molding without the door panel while futzing with this. Can be aggravating.
