Default Highway Speed

Can any of you that have a stock flathead V-8 with a Fordomatic (51-53), tell me what a comfortable highway cruising speed you can get is?
Thanks,
Steve

I have a 51 Mercury with the Merc-o-Matic and can comfortably do 65mph. I have gone 80 for brief periods but the motor gets a little noisy.

I have not done any extended highway driving but the old Merc felt and sounded pretty comfortable at 55 mph. I don't like to hear an engine screaming at high rpm and this one wasn't. Plenty of room left under the pedal but I didn't push it too hard. Looking forward to warmer, drier weather to do another speed test.
