Default Are '46-'48 Coupe and Sedan Fenders the same?

Good Afternoon,

I need to find a set of rear fenders for a '46 Ford long door coupe. Are the rear fenders on coupes and sedans of the '46-'48 model years the same? I realize that the trim holes between '46 and '47/'48 are different but other than that are they the same?

Thanks,

Thor

Same to my knowledge. Only ones different would be for station wagon, sedan delivery and Sportsman.

My understanding is 1942-48 coupe, sedan, and convertible have the same shape and bolt up exactly the same. Where you will find differences is in holes for whatever trim, if any, is used or to be used.

I recall an old V8 Times article that explained with photographs that there are three different bumper iron openings at the rear of the Ford/Mercury fender between the model years 1941 and 1948. You might wish to check this feature as you are making a purchase. Bryan
