Gear Replacement, 1933 V8
I need to replace the rear sliding gear in my '33. Is there any way to remove the 2-piece shaft without removing the engine or the rear axle?

Re: Gear Replacement, 1933 V8
If there is, somebody please tell me quick since I'm getting ready to pull the engine and trans. in my Avatar car to install the later gears in the stock '35 box. I have always pulled either the engine or the rear to do any work inside these transmissions relative to their gears. I'm thinking and betting there is no other way to do it.
Al, on another subject.....do you still repair radios that were used in these early Ford V8's?

Al,
I agree with JM and Mart, no easy way. If your sheet metal and grill is lined up real nice it might be less frustrating to yank the rear end and proceed that way. Charlie ny |

Yes, John, I still repair car radios and any other vacuum-tube sets.
