Default '40 Banjo Timken Numbers

Just wondering if anyone has all the Timken bearing numbers for a 40 Banjo?
I am replacing all the bearings.
I am just trying to speed things up by going into local bearing supply
with all my numbers in hand.

Thank you for any help you may offer.

I do, but I am not going to be home until around 7pm Pacific time. IF nobody has posted them by the time I get home, I will do that.

I don't have the Timken number, but many rear ends have other brand bearings if they were replaced over the years. The original Ford number is 68-4221, the dealer should be able to match it. The cones (race) should also be replaced with the new bearings. The race number is 68-4222. C&G shows them as $36.50 for bearings, $22.00 for the race, each.

I have found that the Ford parts vendors usually have better prices than the modern auto parts store for Timken bearings. Also easier to find the right part.

Thanks john in illinois, that is certainly a thought I had.
There is a place on this side of the border I deal with that sells a lot
of Mac's and other vendors stuff. I will call them after our long weekend.

Right now with how the dollar is and shipping, customs and brokerage fees can easily
add over $100. to a $500. order from the USA.

I have a place here in town called Transmission Supply that is really good to deal with,
but they are much happier if I walk in with numbers for what I am looking for.

Thanks again!

While we are on the subject. Are the part numbers the same for the 42-47 1/2 ton pickup pinions? And the 35-36 axle hsg races? I have several hundred NOS and NORS bearings and races, so need to know what I need to keep for my own useThanks. Rod

Rowdy,
Don't know about the 42-7 pickup but I think that is a different kind of rear end.
35-6 passenger Timken list:

Pinion Race 27820D (same 35-48)
Pinion bearings 27880 (same 35-48)
Carrier bearings 22168
Carrier race 22325
Non Timken
pinion pilot brng Bower R 1304 BF (same 33-48)
drve shaft front brng Hyatt/Baltzer 99061 (same 32-48)

Thanks for the info. Only using the axle hsgs from the 35-36 rearend. Will see what I can figure out about the bearings from the pickup rearend. Hopefully they will have the Timken or Bower bearing numbers on them like the 1950's NOS bearings have on them. Ford sold them in the Fomoco box, but had the manufacturers number on them. Rod
