Re: Help disassembling rear left brake for 1929 Model A
Forgot the brake lube, known as brake assembly lube, often red and with lots of cling and high temp so it will not migrate to the linings. This might be synthetic. Used on anything that moves the shoes or is a roller or adjuster.

This is the grease that Randy Gross sent me to pack the bearings on his rear brake drums.

Re: Help disassembling rear left brake for 1929 Model A
Thanks @100IH and @alexiskai for the tips.
I already bought Timken's wheel bearing grease as I saw it was being sold by Bratton's (https://www.brattons.com/wheel-bearing-grease.html) Would this work for the rear wheel bearings or do I need to start over and use the other ones that you have suggested? For lubricating other moving parts (rollers, adjusters etc.), I have used white lithium grease. Hope that would be fine. |
