David, I have one but I'm away from my home for a few days and I don't have any photo's of the tool box on my laptop. If you don't receive any in the next few days I will send you some detailed photo's.

That tool box is a Dunsford tool box.

There was a pic just recently David. I actually commented on it. I think it was the thread on storage/tool boxes? in the back of roadsters & coupes?
Someone is bound to remember.

David, The under hood toolbox photos posted by Laurie are aussie made genuine ford fitment on all Australian built 33-34 closed cars from new and not accessories. Most open cars as far as I am aware were not fitted from new with these toolboxes. They are wider than the square box accessory USA type DUNSFORD boxes as they nearly come right out to the edge of the cowl. The top sliding lids angle down at each end to clear the angle of the hood. They turn up over here (AUSTRALIA) now and then. One on ebay here last week sold for $100.00. A bit big and heavy to ship by normal mail though. You could GOOGLE, 34 ford tool box on ebay australia to check whats around now and then. Regards, Kevin.

Kevin, I didn,t know they were std fitment on Aussie fords,.that explains why there were no holes for mine to mount on the 33 and 34,both Kiwi cars.
They are great storage for tools and spares, also on the 33 I put a little rubber pad on the pull tab on the lid and its great for resting the bonnet(hood ) on when open.

That box is far different than the Dunsford boxes. I have never seen one like you picture, but then there is a lot that I have never seen.

Lawson, they look pretty easy to make up,any sheet metal shop shoud be able to do it as there are only straight lines ,no curves.

Yeah, should be easy to duplicate. I tried one on my 34 and did not like it so I sold it years ago.

David, I could probually keep my eye out for one for you, but they are hefty so best shipping would be in a container with some one elses stuff. Another little problem which would include your roadster ute, the spare sidemount wheel gets in the way of the toolbox lid as you are sliding it out. Only opens about 1/3 the way before hitting the tire. Most sedans and coupes here had rear spares, but utes had to have a side mount. The toolbox had two mounting bolts at each end with a thin hardwood mounting block between cowl and bottom of box which both bolts passed through. Rubber mounts would be better today. Center box tunnel is to clear choke and throttle rods. Boxes were felt lined. Regards, Kevin.
