Re: Model A Radial Tires
I returned home today after driving 4500 miles on my brand new 550R19's and can report that at highway speed, the tires are quiet and feel very stable. With the Mitchell Overdrive, we can really get our Model A's running fast on the open road. I also logged many miles of backroads on dirt, gravel, and heavily wash-boarded byways. Only problem I had was that initially, I had 40 pounds of air pressure in the tires which created to much bouncing on dirt and gravel roads. I reduced the air to 35 pounds and found that it vastly improved the dirt road experience. On badly rutted dirt roads the car tracked straight down the road. The radial tubes that Coker sold me have very long valve stems that I do not like and feel that they need to be shorter to garner 100% satisfaction from me. The tires, though, with 2 steel belts and mud and snow rating providing superior handling off road and confidence at top end highway speeds I don't believe can be beat. Cost is expensive but, longevity and improved safety need to be factored in as well.

Re: Model A Radial Tires
Carl.....Do you adjust the toe-in differently for the radials, or were you just making sure it was to normal Model A spec? By the way, your truck looks great! Are your wheels Tacoma Cream color?
