Default Anyone Ever Repair A....

Hi guys I have a question on the Zenith Carb. ... has anyone ever stopped the leaking drain cock on the side bowel. I replaced the drain valve with new ones, all you need to do is try and tighten them with a plyers and there done, but i was wondering if it can be pluged up some how?? it is a special thread and i couldn't find a plug to fit.I was thinking of retaping it out to a standard small pipe thread , is that the way to go ?? I have a new side bowel on order from Brattons , with yet another drain cock but just for my own info. i would like to plug up the old one. thanks again THE HOOCH

It would be pipe thread from the factory, unless someone goofed it up later. Pliers! Suggest you get a proper wrench on the part, so you don't round over the flats. I use gas proof pipe dope on my fittings.

What material were the 2 gaskets made from originally? Are they both made from the same material?

If you want to plug up the petcock. Why don't you just braze up the tip, re-dress it and seat it down.

Have you looked at the seat in the sediment bowl. Is it damaged?

Some of the reproduction parts do not fit correctly. No surprise there. Bolt too long, sides of the casting not parallel, screen too long.
