Question Counterbalanced Crank with a harmonic balancer

There is another thread on the harmonic balancer from New Zealand. I do not want to hijack that thread so I started this one.

I have 2 engines that have counterbalanced cranks and they do not seem to have definite vibration ranges like some of the other posts indicated. I cannot think this through to see where the harmonic balancer would help. Anyone have any thoughts?

Torsional vibration is reduced with a counterbalanced crankshaft but not eliminated..why not run the balancer

What other modifications did you do that could affect crank harmonics?
Lightened flywheel?

You do not feel torsional vibration. The advantage of a front damper will normally only be noticed by longer bearing life.

You can hear torsional vibration with metal timing gears which shake together as you pass through the harmonic rev ranges.
