Default Unlocking steering column?

47 pickup. Key tumbler is gone and steering column is in locked position. How do I get it to unlock without key tumbler?

I think you can reach in with a screw driver and push it out, take the tension off the steering wheel as you do it.

With a screwdriver through the tumbler hole, then slide the lock rod out of its hole in the shaft. This rod or lock shaft is moved to lock and out of lock by the eccentric on the key tumbler. For 5 years on my 46 I bought a new keys and tumbler BE careful these
are Total Junk; SO I dropped and stripped the worn tumbler, dropped it in there for
looks. No more lost keys or a locked steering wheel.
